As Wales marks the anniversary of the Aberfan disaster in October, new digital learning resources are available from Amgueddfa Cymru and The National Library of Wales. Both resources offer schools an opportunity to explore this significant event in Welsh history with care and sensitivity.

Amgueddfa Cymru

Through first-hand accounts, photographs, film footage, artwork and archive materials, learners will investigate one of the most significant events in Welsh history and its ongoing legacy. Designed for learners at Progression steps 3 and 4, this flexible resource includes digital learning materials, teacher guidance and professional learning content.

Access the resource from Amgueddfa Cymru on The Aberfan Disaster page on Hwb.

The National Library of Wales

These resources are for learners at Progression step 4 and use original items from The National Library of Wales collections to present the history of the Aberfan Disaster.

Access the resource from The National Library for Wales on the Aberfan Disaster page on Hwb.
