Overview
The purpose of Hwb is to support teaching and learning activities in Wales. All maintained schools in Wales have now received Hwb login details for staff and learners; these can be obtained from the school Hwb administrator (this is usually the school’s IT co-ordinator). Hwb accounts are created entirely at the discretion of the Welsh Government.

I am a:
Teacher in a maintained school in Wales
All teachers in maintained school in Wales are eligible for Hwb accounts. Please contact your Hwb administrator. Access is granted through the schools MIS.
Supply teacher in a maintained school in Wales
All supply teachers are entitled to hold their own portable supply teacher Hwb account (which gives access to Microsoft 365 and your own Hwb email address). These accounts are manually created by the Hwb team. Sign up using our online form.
Supply teacher Hwb accounts are only provided to individuals registered with the EWC in the category of School Teacher. To hold an account, you should work as a supply teacher in maintained schools in Wales. By holding a supply teacher Hwb account you must agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions of Hwb. Anything you do on Hwb must have an educational purpose and you should not regard any of your activity as private or confidential. Your full details will be checked against the EWC Register.
Teacher in an independent school in Wales
Independent schools are not eligible for Hwb accounts however you can benefit from the thousands of free teaching resources which are available on Hwb without a login.
Teacher in a school outside of Wales
Independent schools are not eligible for Hwb accounts however you can benefit from the thousands of free teaching resources which are available on Hwb without a login.
School governor
Hwb accounts are available for governors in maintained schools in Wales through the school's Hwb administrator. If you are unsure who this is, please contact the headteacher of the school.
Learner
Due to data protection, Hwb login details can only be provided to learners by their teachers. Please speak to your teacher about obtaining your Hwb username and password.
Parent
Hwb accounts are not currently available for parents. Hwb login details for learner can be obtained from their teacher.
Welsh local authority
Please contact the Hwb administrator in your organisation to request an account. If you're unsure who this is, please email support@hwbcymru.net.
Initial teacher education
If you're on an initial teacher education (ITE) wish to get registered user access to Hwb, please contact the Hwb admin at your university.
