2. Learner Journey

The Seren Academy is one continuous programme, supporting learners through three stages of progression, as follows:

Stage One: years 8 and 9

Supports learners to find their passion, make the right choices for themselves, provides an introduction to what their educational journey could look like and launches the start of their super-curricular study.

Stage Two: years 10 and 11

Provides opportunities for super-curricular activities and competitions, tasters into university life and guidance for the next step of their educational journey. In stage 02, learners will register on Seren Space so they have access to an increased range of opportunities depending upon their area of academic interest and possible educational pathway.

Stage Three: years 12 and 13

This stage emphasises the specific support learners will receive to prepare a competitive and successful entry into leading universities. Learners will receive direct advice from university admissions tutors on how to apply, develop competitive personal statements, prepare for admissions tests and approach interviews.

Across all stages, learners are provided with opportunities to further their super-curricular exploration and push the boundaries of their academic development and engagement. The intensity of opportunities and learner commitment increases as learners progress through each stage, building from stage one, which inspires learners about their future educational pathway, through to stage three which acts as the culmination of their Seren journey.
