Stage 01: Years 8 and 9

Eligibility criteria

Teacher freedom to create a Seren cohort to include those with high attainment but also those with the potential for high attainment if exposed to the Seren Academy programme in stage 01.

Stage 02: Years 10 and 11

Eligibility criteria

Learners need to have either:

  • the potential to achieve 6A* at GCSE
  • a minimum of 5*A/A contextualised*
  • Capped 9-point score circa 460 and above

Yes.

Stage 03: Years 12 and 13

Eligibility criteria

As previous:

  1. Automatic Entry: The learner has achieved a minimum of 6 A*s (full GCSEs).

Or

  1. The learner has an exceptional aptitude in a specific field of study for example, Maths and
    The learner has achieved a minimum of 5A*/A (full GCSEs) and has further potential.

Yes.

Contextualised offers

Teacher discretion to accept lower entry grades of 5 As or A* if learners have experienced barriers that have impeded their academic progress. For example, those with refugee status or care-experienced learners.
