3. Eligibility Criteria
Stage 01: Years 8 and 9
Eligibility criteria
- Teacher freedom to create a Seren cohort to include those with high attainment but also those with the potential for high attainment if exposed to the Seren Academy programme in stage 01.
- This phase will be used to inspire and ignite these learners, to give them an opportunity to work hard to achieve selection in year 10.

Stage 02: Years 10 and 11
Eligibility criteria
Learners need to have the potential to achieve 6A* at GCSE or
- a minimum of 5*A/A contextualised*
- capped 9-point score circa 460 and above

Stage 03: Years 12 and 13
Eligibility criteria
As previous:
- Automatic Entry: The learner has achieved a minimum of 6 A*s (full GCSEs).
Or
- The learner has an exceptional aptitude in a specific field of study, for example, Maths and the learner has achieved a minimum of 5A*/A (full GCSEs) and has further potential.

Contextualised offers
Teacher discretion to accept lower entry grades of 5 As or A* if learners have experienced barriers that have impeded their academic progress. For example, those with refugee status or care-experienced learners.
