All learners, school staff, governors, supply teachers in maintained schools in Wales can download and install the latest Microsoft tools at no cost on up to 15 personal devices through Hwb. This includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Minecraft Education. This is also available to Hwb users from school improvement partners and local authorities.

What it includes

You can install these Microsoft 365 applications free on your personal devices (on up to 5 laptop or desktop computers, 5 tablets and 5 smartphones).

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, Outlook, Minecraft Education and many more.

Tablets and smartphones

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, Outlook, Minecraft Education and many more apps including Planner, Sway and To-Do.

You can use these cloud-based Microsoft tools on any browser-enabled device.

Information

You should uninstall any other version of Microsoft 365 you have on your device before you begin installation. Make sure you have permission before you begin.

Windows, Chrome and Mac desktops

  1. Log into Hwb on your personal device.
  2. Launch Microsoft 365.
  3. Install Office.

Tablets and smartphones

Simply sign into mobile apps with your Hwb username (for example BloggsJ@Hwbcymru.net) and password.

Staff must have their licence allocated.

Desktop devices

  1. Go to education.minecraft.net
  2. Choose 'Support' and 'Download'.
  3. Once installed, log in with your Hwb username (for example BloggsJ@Hwbcymru.net) and password.
