3. Other resource topics

While a resource may support the Curriculum for Wales, it might not be intended for direct use with learners and could be better suited for other Hwb topic areas.

Resources relating to the following topic areas must be reviewed and quality assured by the relevant Welsh Government policy team, or body before they are published on Hwb. To start this process, use this guidance to ensure your resource meets Hwb’s publishing criteria. If it does, submit it via the Hwb publishing request form.

Professional learning supports:

  • the delivery of high standards and aspirations for all learners
  • how schools develop as learning organisations
  • the entitlement for practitioners to access quality professional learning

Professional learning resources include case studies and self-guided learning to support the following categories:

  • curriculum, pedagogy and assessment
  • developing as a professional
  • leadership and governance
  • well-being, equity and inclusion

The additional learning needs (ALN) system ensures that learners receive tailored support to access meaningful and inclusive education. It promotes person-centred approaches, enabling all learners to progress at their own pace and reach their potential.

To support learners with ALN and strengthen ALN provision across settings and schools a range of resources are available. These include practical tools, case studies, and professional learning materials.

Learning providers, teaching practitioners and education professionals can find information on a range of 'non-curriculum' topics, such as:

  • digital learning (Digital 2030)
  • equalities (including anti-racism)
  • learner voice and learner engagement
  • mental health and well-being
  • post-16 performance measures
  • social partnership

This material may include outputs from activities and projects which have been funded by the Welsh Government or by Medr: the Commission for Tertiary Education and Research (which became operational on 1 August 2024).
