It's difficult to know what to do or say as an adult in response to hearing about war and conflict on the news. How can you explain the situation to a child? How much should they know? How do you help them manage understandable anxiety around what they see on social media and the news?

These resources for teachers, parents and children give hints and ideas on how to manage those conversations.

As Wales continues to welcome refugees fleeing war and persecution from Syria, Afghanistan and now Ukraine it is important that our young people have the opportunity to learn more about migration and refugees.

A selection of classroom resources are available for teachers to explore events in war torn countries and explain how humanitarian crises affect people. There are also a range of activities to enable young people to understand why refugees flee their home and what it is like to arrive somewhere new away from friends and family.
