How Just2easy can support schools
How Just2easy can support learners
Learners can develop foundational digital skills by using JIT, the Just2easy infant toolkit. These include:
- word processing
- digital drawing
- presentations
- animations
- charts
- coding
- databases
Learners can progress their skills using tools such as j2office, j2code and j2data to:
- create a wide range of digital content
- collaborate on projects
- create digital portfolios of work
How Just2easy can support practitioners
Practitioners can:
- create and manage classes
- easily see learner’s work in one place
- share work with parents and carers through j2journal
Key considerations
- Ensure that the use of Just2easy aligns with wider school policies such as safeguarding, digital literacy, online safety, acceptable use and data protection.
- Just2easy operates entirely through a web browser and is compatible with most devices.
- Registration classes are organised through the school Management Information System (MIS). They cannot be changed in Just2easy. However, practitioners can use j2dashboard to create smaller focused teaching groups.
- Accessibility features in Just2easy include fonts for dyslexia, talk as you type and type as you speak functions. Learn more about accessibility features.
Parent portal: key considerations
- Schools can allow parents and carers access to the parent portal to view their child’s work in j2journal.
- By default, parents and carers must be invited via email. These emails are not sent automatically, schools are responsible for collecting parent or carer email addresses and issuing the invitations. For safeguarding reasons, the QR code invitation option is disabled for all schools.
- Parents and carers with more than one child will receive a separate email for each child. All profiles can be accessed through the same parent account, and you can switch between them using the ‘Switch’ button.
- Parents and carers only have access to work that their child is specifically tagged in. For safeguarding, be aware that tagging ‘all learners’ will make that work, image, or video visible to all parents and carers.
- All comments require practitioner moderation before they go live. While parents and carers can only comment on their own child’s work, approved comments are visible to all learners and parents or carers tagged in that work.
- Schools can disable comments for all classes or for specific classes. Practitioners can manage parental access through j2dashboard. For further support, visit the Just2easy Parent Portal support page.
Data assurances
Schools should consider if their current DPIA should be updated or a new Da-ta Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) is needed.
Just2easy does not use learner data for targeted advertising or marketing. Data is not sold to third parties, and the data processing agreement com-plies with GDPR requirements for privacy and security. Read Just2easy’s privacy notice for further information.
