Details
Casllwchwr Primary School, Swansea is using hand-held devices to support learning and teaching. Learners use technology to support literacy skill development checking their work, spelling and meaning of words.They upload work to share and build up on-line resources. Setting up a parents/carers training club is engaging them in their children’s learning. Appointing an E-learning Manager gives leadership to the project with learners being given responsibility for maintaining equipment, supporting younger children and training new practitioners. Six areas for success are listed with technology, pedagogy and curriculum the three most significant. Improving outcomes in boys’ literacy are observed.
