An online relationship is a relationship between people who interact online and may only know each other via the internet. From gaming platforms to social networks and other platforms, digital technology allows us to stay in touch and develop relationships with others. However, not all online interactions are positive.

Teaching children the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships can help them to build positive, respectful relationships with others online. It can also help children and young people recognise risk, make judgements on who to trust and understand where to get help if they are worried.
