Participants’ schools or employers will need to commit to supporting the participant throughout the NPQH programme and will in turn benefit from the involvement.

This includes providing encouragement, support, and access to appropriate experiences to enhance their participants’ leadership skills and knowledge. It will also include ensuing non-contact time to allow the participant to attend essential elements of the programme:

  • time to prepare, attend and reflect on three two-day residentials
  • school visits (as set out in the programme overview)
  • meetings with their Leadership Coach to discuss progress throughout the programme
  • time to undertake Estyn peer inspection (if not already undertaken)

Funding will be provided to support the release of participants for a total of 23.5 days to engage with the programme.

You should talk with your current headteacher or employer to ensure their support before applying for the programme.
