The National Digital Learning Council (NDLC), running from September 2012 to February 2021, has now formally ceased operations.

The remit of the Council, to provide expert guidance, external to the Welsh Government and also to promote and support the use of digital resources and technologies by learners and teachers, was determined to be overlapping and duplicating effort of a number of other expert groups that have since been established. As such it has been challenging for members to fully engage in the respective Workstreams, which has limited the Councils ability to meet their remit.

The governance arrangements for the Hwb programme have evolved. The EdTech Delivery Authority and Technical Standardisation Group will take forward responsibility for the governance of the Hwb programme going forward, and the realisation of the Curriculum for Wales 2022 will be supported by a National Network.

The Network will bring together teaching professionals, experts, stakeholders, policy makers and enabling partners to identify and address the barriers to, and opportunities for, curriculum implementation. The network will gather and share understanding, co-construct approaches, connect people and drive change. Design principles for the curriculum as well as detailed curriculum structure and content which will include digital learning will form part of the issues and themes considered by the network
