Details
These materials are based on contexts and activities which may already be familiar to teachers and learners, but offer a different learning experience. They place an emphasis on using thinking and numerical reasoning skills to solve problems, analyse data, and draw conclusions that learners can justify with understanding.
While they focus mainly on scientific literacy, the skills the materials are designed to develop can be transferred across the curriculum. They can also be adapted to suit investigations within a teacher’s own curriculum area.
Qualifications Wales has more information on the new GCSEs (external link), which were introduced in September 2015.
