It draws together a wide range of strategies and tools for practical classroom use. It was produced to support the Welsh Government programme for introducing and embedding DT/AfL in classroom practice across Wales. It outlines how to use group work successfully and focuses on questioning as the main driver for AfL in classrooms.
It considers ‘thinking about thinking’ (metacognition) and how learners manage their own learning examining the rationale for and principles which lie behind DT/AfL. It relates these to a range of suggested tools to support classroom practice and learning and is illustrated by helpful cross-curricular examples.
